Privacy Policy

In short

MyBook shows no ads, doesn't track you and uses no analytics. We only process the data the app needs to work; it is stored on our servers in the European Union and permanently deleted when you delete your account.

1. Data controller

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Turkish Law No. 6698 (KVKK), the data controller is Lumii — Taner Sezer, Türkiye. Contact: sezerta@gmail.com

2. Account and sign-in

You sign up with an email address and password or with Sign in with Apple. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash. With Sign in with Apple we receive the email address Apple shares with us (which may be a private relay address) and, if you choose to share it on first sign-in, your name.

3. Data stored on our servers

• Profile: display name, bio, profile photo; optionally your birth year and gender; hobbies, music you love, places you've been. These are visible to other users of the app.
• Library: books you add (ISBN, title, author, cover link), reading status, ratings and notes. Your library is visible to other users.
• Social: who you follow and who follows you, chat rooms you join and messages you write.
• To-do list: visible only to you.
• Safety records: users you block, content reports you send and when you accepted the community guidelines.

Data is processed on servers we operate in Germany (Nuremberg) and encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

4. Data kept on your device

A copy of your library is kept on your device for offline use. Barcode and cover scanning runs on your device (Apple Vision); camera images and photos you pick are not sent to us. Only an image you choose as your profile photo is resized and uploaded to our server.

5. Third parties

To look up book details, the ISBN or text you search for is sent to Google Books and Open Library; no identity or account information is attached to these queries. We share no data with any other third party and never sell data.

6. Ads, tracking and analytics

None. The app contains no advertising, tracking SDKs or analytics, and does not read your advertising identifier (IDFA).

7. Age limit

MyBook is for people aged 13 and over. We delete accounts we learn belong to children under 13.

8. Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete Account: your profile, library, follows, messages, photo and all other MyBook data are deleted immediately and disappear from security backups within 7 days. Content you reported may be kept until it has been reviewed by moderation.

9. Your rights (GDPR & KVKK)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the service) and on the basis of legitimate interest (community safety). Email sezerta@gmail.com with any request; we reply within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Changes

If we update this policy we will change the date on this page and announce significant changes in the app.
